In 1960 - Dr Stanley W Jacob was conducting research into a substance called DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) a natural compound which comes from trees, claimed to have amazing health giving properties.
Historical Discovery!
When Dr Jacob revealed his findings about DMSO to The American College of Surgeons in 1963, a wave of excitement hit the medical profession and press. The New York Times front page headline described DMSO as "The most exciting thing in medicine, it's significance similar in importance to the discovery of penicillin"
